Radiesse®
Radiesse® is an FDA-approved, next-generation dermal filler that treats facial lines such as the nasolabial folds as well as other facial lines and wrinkles. Consisting of calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel, Radiesse® is injected into the skin through a minimally invasive procedure giving you instant, visible improvement of folds and wrinkles, and providing long-lasting results. In many people, the results of Radiesse® can last over a year. Offering clinically proven safety and longevity, Radiesse® is a simple treatment that stimulates the body to produce new collagen — often with just one or two office visits.
Juvederm
Juvederm is a Hyaluronic Acid (HA) gel that is approved by the FDA to smooth facial wrinkles and folds. Juvederm is safe and effective medical spa treatment for all skin types, including persons of color. It is the first hyaluronic acid cosmetic filler to be FDA approved for up to 1 year.
Juvederm Injectable Gel is especially effective medical spa treatment for correcting moderate to severe nasolabial folds (creases or "parentheses" running from the nose to the mouth area). The hyaluronic acid in Juvederm bonds to the water naturally present beneath the surface of the skin creating added fullness. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occuring substance that is formulated by Allergan, the maker of Botox Cosmetic, into a smooth consistency gel that can instantly take years off of the appearance in both women and men. Juvederm can also be an effective spa treatment for adding volume to thin and aging lips.
Treatment with Juvederm in our Wisconsin medical spa is quick and convenient, and can be accomplished easily during lunchtime or after work. After assessing your current condition and aesthetic goals, Dr Ayaz Samadani eases Juvederm beneath the surface of the skin to augment, or fill, wrinkles or folds. After injection, he may lightly massage the area. The entire procedure usually takes about 15 minutes.

Radiesse® is a safe, next generation dermal filler that is aiming to become the new standard for the correction of facial lines and wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds. Years of rigorous clinical studies prove that Radiesse® provides long lasting correction of smile lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. Radiesse® is made of unique calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel that is injected into the skin through a simple, safe, and minimally invasive procedure. Radiesse® treatments deliver a natural look that lasts.
How does Radiesse® work? Back to top
Radiesse® is gently injected into the skin in small amounts with a very fine needle. Radiesse® stimulates the body to produce new collagen. This unique response provides immediate, visible improvement of folds and wrinkles, and provides long-lasting and beautiful results.
Is Radiesse® safe? Back to top
In years of rigorous clinical testing and use by physicians in hundreds of thousands of patients worldwide, Radiesse® has been shown to be safe and effective. In the FDA clinical studies there were virtually no allergic reactions. There may be some normal injection related occurrences.
Am I a Radiesse® candidate? Back to top
You may be a Radiesse® dermal filler candidate if you are beginning to notice facial wrinkles, lines, and folds. Radiesse® provides immediate and long-lasting wrinkle correction.
Why "correct" wrinkles with Radiesse®? Back to top
Over time, tissue volume diminishes, leaving folds and wrinkles in several common patterns, including the deepening of nasolabial folds, accentuated smile lines (sometimes called "marionette lines"). Radiesse® can be injected into the skin in order to compensate for the loss of volume or to correct these areas. By stimulating the body to produce new collagen, Radiesse® provides a natural look that lasts for a fresh, rested, healthy appearance that still looks like you.
How is a Radiesse® treatment performed? Back to top
Radiesse® is injected into the skin through a simple, safe, quick, and minimally invasive outpatient procedure. Typically administered in a physician's office with the use of a local anesthetic, Radiesse® treatment requires little to no downtime, with most patients returning to normal activities almost immediately after treatment.
How soon can I expect results? How long will the results last? Back to top
The results are immediate. Radiesse® continues to deliver results as it stimulates your body to produce new collagen. Results may last a year or more in many patients, which may result in fewer office visits for retreatments. Since results may vary, be sure to discuss your expectations with your doctor.
How many treatments will I need? Back to top
Many patients will achieve their desired result after just one or two treatments. To ensure your satisfaction with the treatment, Dr Samadani might schedule a follow-up visit, where a touch up treatment might be recommended.
How much does Radiesse® cost? Back to top
Because Radiesse® treatment is customized for each patient, its cost varies. In general, the cost of Radiesse® is comparable to similar procedures. And because Radiesse® may require fewer offices visits for retreatment, you could save money and time.
Are there any side effects? Back to top
Normal, injection-related reactions such as mild irritation, edema, swelling, itching, discoloration, or tenderness at the injection site may occur. These conditions typically resolve themselves within one to two days.
Could I have an allergic reaction to Radiesse®? Back to top
Radiesse® is biocompatible. You do not need to undergo skin allergy testing, which is common with certain animal-based or permanent filler agents, prior to treatment. However, if you believe you are having an allergic reaction to Radiesse®, seek medical attention immediately.
Is Radiesse® permanent? Back to top
No. Treatment results are long-lasting, but not permanent. Over time the tiny calcium-based microspheres gradually break down into calcium and phosphate ions which are safely and naturally absorbed into your body, leaving your own newly produced collagen in their place.
How does Radiesse® work? Back to top
Radiesse® injections work below the skin's surface to stimulate the body to produce new collagen. Radiesse® does more than just temporarily fill in facial lines and wrinkles – it actually provides facial volume. You get immediate results that are long lasting.
Juvederm FAQ
How is Juvederm different from Botox? Back to top
While both Juvederm and Botox are injected by a doctor, Juvederm uses hyaluronic acid to fill in facial wrinkles such as the nasolabial folds, while Botox is commonly used to selectively relax the facial muscles responsible for wrinkles between the eyebrows (glabella), the forehead, and under the eyes.
Can I combine Botox and Juvederm medical treatments? Back to top
Yes. Clients often combine Botox with cosmetic dermal fillers such as Juvederm. This is easily accomplished within the same session.
How much does Juvederm cost? Back to top
Our medical spa prices Juvederm per syringe used. The number of syringes used depends on individual facial characteristics and personal aesthetic goals. For more information about Juvederm pricing, please call 920.887.7731 or email info@SkinPerfectMD.com.
How long do results from Juvederm last? Back to top
Juvederm is the only HA filler that is approved by the FDA to last up to 1 year.
Is injection with Juvederm painful? Back to top
Clients should expect some discomfort during and directly after treatment with any dermal filler product. To make the process more comfortable, Dr. Samadani may apply an anesthetic (numbing) cream to the area before injection.
Can I have Juvederm spa treatment on the day of an event? Back to top
We recommend planning your Juvederm treatment at least 2 weeks prior to any special event. While most side effects are mild to moderate in nature, these can include temporary injections site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration.
Can people with different skin tones/colors be treated with Juvederm? Back to top
Yes. Juvederm is the first FDA-approved HA filler that has proven its safety and effectiveness in persons of color. Studies with Juvederm showed no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of color.
